# Product views

On the Product detail page, you can switch between Build and Activity. Build
mode includes Visual view and List view. Visual view maps Capabilities and
Surfaces on an interactive canvas. List view organizes the same items into
sections with management controls. Activity mode shows recent conversations and
runs for the Product.

## Switch between views

To switch views, follow these steps:

1. On the **Products** page, open a Product.
2. In the header, click **Build** or **Activity**.
3. In Build mode, click **Visual view** or **List view**.

The selected view is stored in the page URL. When you reload the page, Runtype
restores that view.

The header also has a **Try workspace** button, which opens the Product in an
alternative workspace layout. To return to the views on this page, open
**Panels** and select **Switch to classic editor**.

## Save your changes

Most edits that you make in Build mode stay pending until you click **Save** in
the header. The **Save** button shows the number of pending changes. To undo
all pending changes, click **Discard changes** next to **Save**, and then
confirm.

Some actions apply immediately and don't wait for **Save**:

* Changing a Surface's status, in either view.
* Deleting a Capability or Surface from List view, after you confirm.

## Visual view

Use Visual view to inspect relationships and connect Capabilities to Surfaces.
It places Capabilities and Surfaces in separate areas and draws a connection
from each Capability to the Surfaces that expose it.

Each Capability node shows its type: **Flow**, **Agent**, or **External agent**
for an [agent that runs outside Runtype](/user-guide/products-surfaces/connecting-external-agents).
Each Surface node shows the number of connected Capabilities.
Surface nodes can also show setup progress when the Surface has an incomplete
setup flow.

The overlay at the top of the canvas shows the Product description and the
**Runs (24h)** and **Errors (24h)** counts. Click the description to edit it.
Click a count to open Activity. **Errors (24h)** opens Activity with **Errors
only** selected.

Use the following actions to work with the diagram:

* To edit a Capability, double-click its node. The Flow or Agent editor opens
  full screen.
* To edit a Surface, double-click its node. The Surface editor opens in a side
  panel.
* To act on a node, open its **More actions** menu. A Capability menu includes
**Edit**, **Test**, **Disable** or **Enable**, group options, and **Delete**. A
Surface menu includes **Edit**, **Preview**, **Evaluate**, **Conversations**,
**Feedback**, a **Status** submenu with **Active**, **Paused**, and **Draft**,
  and **Delete**.
* To connect a Capability to a Surface, drag from the Capability node to the
  Surface node.
* To remove a connection, select it and press Delete or Backspace, or click
  **Delete connection**.
* To organize the canvas, drag nodes to new positions, or right-click an empty
area and select **Create group** or **Add note**. Use the controls on a group
to rename it, change its color, or dissolve it.
* To pan the canvas, click and drag the canvas.
* To zoom, use the mouse wheel, a pinch gesture, the **Zoom in** and **Zoom
out** buttons, or a preset level in the zoom menu.
* To fit the diagram in the window, open the zoom menu and select **Fit to
  view**.

## List view

Use List view to review statuses, manage API keys, and run actions without
using the diagram. List view has two sections: **Product capabilities** and
**Product surfaces**. Each section shows an item count and an **Add
Capability** or **Add Surface** button.

The **Product capabilities** section provides the following details and actions:

* Each Capability card shows its name, type, connected Surfaces, and enabled
or disabled status. The type is Flow or Agent, or External for an external
  agent that isn't saved yet.
* To test a Capability, hover over its card and click the play button.
* Open a Capability's **More actions** menu to select **Edit**, **Test**, **Copy
  ID**, or **Delete**.

The **Product surfaces** section provides the following details and actions:

* Each Surface card shows its name, type, connected Capability count, API key
  count, and status.
* Use the status menu to set a Surface to **Active**, **Paused**, or **Draft**.
* Open a Surface's **More actions** menu to select **Edit Surface**, **Generate
API Key**, **Run Eval**, or **Delete Surface**.
* When a Surface setup is incomplete, follow the onboarding banner on its card.

Cards with pending changes show a badge until you save. **Unsaved** marks a
new Capability, **Modified** marks an edited item, and **Removing** marks an
item that you deleted in Visual view or in the item's side panel.

## Activity

Activity shows conversations and runs from the Product's Surfaces. A red dot on
**Activity** means that runs failed in the last 24 hours. Use the following
controls to review activity:

* Select **Errors only** to show failed activity.
* Select **All surfaces** or a Surface name to filter the activity list.
* Click **Refresh activity** to fetch the latest activity.
* Click **Load more** to fetch older activity.
* Select an item to open its details. A conversation row expands to show its
runs or turns. For a turn, the details show latency, cost, tokens, and model,
and link to the full conversation.

To move through the list from the keyboard, press j and k to move between
rows, Enter to open the focused row, and Escape to clear the filters.

### Reply to a conversation yourself

On messaging Surfaces such as Slack, SMS, and iMessage, you can take over a
conversation from the agent and reply from the dashboard. To reply yourself,
follow these steps:

1. In Activity, select a conversation from a messaging Surface.
2. In the details, click **Take over**. A banner shows that a human is replying.
The agent doesn't reply to new messages while you have the conversation.
3. Type your reply and send it.
4. To hand the conversation back, click **Resume agent**.

A reply that the agent started before you took over can still arrive. You can't
take over a closed or archived conversation. If the conversation has no channel
address, you can't send a reply.
