What's in Settings?
Settings is your control center for configuring AI models, managing API access, monitoring usage, and customizing your Runtype workspace. Access it by clicking Settings in the sidebar.
Some sections are only available in specific cases. Team only appears if you are part of an organization. BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys) is only available on supported plans.
Models
Set up the AI models and providers that power your Flows and Agents. This tab has two sections:
My Models — Browse all the models in your workspace. Each model shows badges like Default, Custom, Platform Key, or BYOK. From here you can set a default model, edit configurations, or remove models you no longer need.
My Providers — Connect API keys for providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, XAI, Together.ai, and more. Each provider card shows how many models are available and configured, with links to provider documentation.
Click Add Model to explore available models. You can filter by capability, context length, output token limit, price, and response format. You can also create fully custom models with your own model IDs.
A usage card shows your current month's request count, total cost, and top cost driver at a glance.
Runtype includes platform keys so you can start building immediately with no API key setup. If you want to use your own keys, BYOK is available on supported plans.
To connect supported providers, see Connecting AI model providers.
API
Create and manage API keys for accessing Runtype programmatically. This tab has two sections:
API Keys — Click Create New API Key to create a key. Give it a name, choose an environment, and optionally set permissions, expiration dates, or a permission template. Keys show badges like Active, Inactive, Expired, or Test. You can reveal, edit, regenerate, toggle active or inactive, or delete keys as needed.
Key Analytics — View usage statistics for each API key, including request counts and last-used dates.
Use the Test environment for development and experimentation. It keeps your production data clean and makes it easier to iterate safely.
Billing
Manage your subscription and track what you are using. This section includes:
Your Plan — See your current plan, pricing, and trial status. Upgrade or manage your subscription from here, or open the billing portal for a fuller plan selection flow.
Usage Overview — Track your Production Surfaces, Development Surfaces, and Executions with visual progress bars that show where you stand against your plan limits.
BYOK Status — See whether your plan supports bringing your own API keys.
Model Usage — Review a detailed cost breakdown by model and provider.
Check the Model Usage breakdown to spot your top cost drivers. Switching some workloads to a more efficient model can lower spend.
For billing questions and plan details, see FAQ.
Usage
Get a clear picture of spending and execution activity. You can switch between 7-day, 30-day, or 90-day views to explore:
Spend over time
Spend by category
Spend by model
Spend by tool
Executions over time
Usage data refreshes automatically, so you are always looking at current numbers. This tab is view-only and shows a friendly empty state until you have run your first Flow or Agent.
Integrations
Connect third-party services to unlock more Capabilities in your Flows and Agents. Each integration is optional, so you can activate what you need and skip the rest.
Analytics — Add a PostHog Project API key to enable the send-event step in your Flows.
Web Scraping — Configure Cloudflare Browser Rendering for deterministic website crawling with the crawl step, or add Firecrawl and Exa keys for web data extraction and search.
Vector Databases — Connect Weaviate or Cloudflare Vectorize for vector storage and retrieval. You can add multiple configurations, set a default, and review badges like Ready or Needs Config. Weaviate also auto-discovers available embedding models from your instance.
Code Execution — Add a Daytona key for sandboxed code execution in your Flows.
Email — Configure Resend to enable the send email step in your Flows and Agents.
Some integrations, including Firecrawl and Daytona, can fall back to Runtype platform keys if you have not added your own yet.
Dashboard
Customize your personal workspace preferences:
Theme — Choose Light, Dark, or System. Preview cards show each option before you select it.
Always download API keys — Choose whether newly created API keys are automatically downloaded as a JSON file.
Team (organization only)
Manage your organization's members and permissions. This tab only appears if you are part of an organization.
Team Members — View members with role badges like Admin and Member. Admins can promote members, demote admins, or remove members from the organization. Click Invite Team Member to bring in new people.
Pending Invitations — Admins can view, resend, or revoke outstanding invitations.
If you are not currently in an organization, this area shows an option to switch to one.
