Authentication issues
Use these steps to resolve sign-in, password reset, and account access issues.
You can’t sign in
Reset your password
To reset your password, follow these steps:
- Open the Runtype Dashboard.
- Click Sign in.
- Click Forgot password?.
- Enter your email address.
- Open the password reset email.
- Set a new password.
Email address not recognized
If the sign-in form doesn’t recognize your email address, follow these steps:
- Check your email address for typos.
- If you haven’t created an account, create one.
- If you signed up with Google, select Continue with Google instead of using an email address and password.
Password rejected
If your password is rejected, follow these steps:
- Check that Caps Lock is off.
- If you don’t remember your password, use the password reset flow.
- If you signed up with Google, select Continue with Google.
Google sign-in issues
OAuth error after selecting Google
If an OAuth error appears after you select Continue with Google, follow these steps:
- Clear your browser cookies.
- Open Runtype in a private browsing window.
- Try another browser.
- Allow pop-ups for the Runtype Dashboard.
Wrong Google account selected
If Google selects the wrong account, follow these steps:
- Sign out of all Google accounts in your browser.
- Sign in to the correct Google account.
- Return to Runtype and select Continue with Google.
Email verification
You didn’t receive a verification email
If you don’t receive a verification email, follow these steps:
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Wait 5 to 10 minutes for the email to arrive.
- Add
noreply@agents.runtype.comto your contacts. - Request another verification email from the dashboard.
Verification link expired
If your verification link expired, follow these steps:
- Open the Runtype Dashboard and sign in.
- Click Resend verification email.
- Open the link in the verification email.
Account locked
If repeated failed sign-in attempts lock your account, follow these steps:
- Wait for the lockout period to end.
- If you don’t remember your password, reset it.
- Contact support if you still can’t sign in.
Two-factor authentication
If you enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), use these steps to recover access.
You lost your 2FA device
If you lost your 2FA device, follow these steps:
- Use a backup code from your 2FA setup.
- If you don’t have a backup code, contact support.
Your 2FA code doesn’t work
If your 2FA code doesn’t work, follow these steps:
- If you use an authenticator app, synchronize your device time.
- Enter the next code.
- Use a backup code if you have one.
Protect your credentials. Do not share your password or API keys with anyone, including Runtype support. Runtype support does not ask for your password.
Session expired
If your session expires, sign in again. Session tokens are short-lived and rotate automatically.
Switch organizations
Wrong organization selected
To switch to another organization, follow these steps:
- Open User menu in the sidebar.
- Select Switch Organization.
- Select the organization that you want to use.
Expected organization is missing
If you can’t find an organization, follow these steps:
- Confirm that an organization admin invited you.
- Open the invitation email and accept the invitation.
- Ask an organization admin to resend the invitation if needed.
Contact support
If you still can’t sign in, contact Runtype support and include these details:
- The email address for your account.
- The date of your last successful sign-in, if you know it.
- The error messages or screenshots that you see.
